23/10/2014 Boss Planter at West Wyalong

This year a 9 Metre Boss Supaflex planter fitted with TX45 Parallelogram row units was delivered to Andrew & Charlie Dalglish at "Panama" 11km from Ungarie. Set up on 300mm spacing's with a liquid fertiliser tank fitted on the pull, and liquid tubes to the back of each tyne, the planter direct drilled 1200 hectares with an outstanding result.

Andrew told us that the machines ability to follow the ground was "second to none" and the build quality & strength of the planter would keep delivering great results for many years to come, with "bugger all maintenance".

If you would like to have a look at this machine feel free to give us a call so we can arrange with Andrew & Charlie for you to call in. Ph: 02 6721 2677

23/10/2014 Boss Agriculture planters in Victoria

This season saw a number of new Boss planters delivered into VIC, and by all accounts it was the wettest sowing that most of the fellas had seen in many years. The result was excellent with feedback including  “the machine didn’t stop” to “it was the most even strike I have had with my canola where my country changes from red to black”.

Machines delivered this year included:

  • 18 Metre double folding machine with TX65 parallelogram tyne planting units at Horsham.
  • 16 Metre double folding machine with TX45 parallelogram tyne planting units at Tungamah.
  • 12 Metre single folding machine with VX65 hydraulic parallelogram tyne planting units at Winchelsea.

One of our Boss single disc planters has just completed its second sowing season at Dookie VIC with great results. Quite a few demo tyne & single disc openers completed the season as well, bolted onto existing planter frames to see how they performed in genuine sowing conditions.

20/10/2014 Sowing into raised beds in Victoria

Our most southern planter was delivered this year into a farming area that includes a large area of raised beds.
The planter is a 12 Metre Boss bridge frame with external frame lift wheels to promote exceptional trash flow in this high yielding environment. The planter was set up with our new VX65 hydraulic row units on 250mm spacing’s running an offset of 62.5mm to allow for inter-row sowing each year. With some great feedback, grower support and our commitment to deliver the best possible machine into the area we overcame a few challenges including rocks, press wheels building up with mud and shallow planting depths.

A second machine on a neighbouring property will be delivered in the coming months, and we look forward to the Boss Planter range delivering some great results in southern VIC as we grow.
